U.S. announces Iran's new sanctions list

    According to Singapore’s “Lianhe Zaobao” report, the United States announced that it imposed sanctions on the president of the Central Bank of Iran. According to the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s official website, apart from sanctioning the Central Bank of Iran’s Valiollah Seif, the United States also imposed sanctions on a bank in Iraq and three other individuals. Saif was sanctioned for supporting Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard. The sanctions list also includes an Iranian citizen and an Iraqi citizen. Another Lebanese citizen was also sanctioned for supporting the Shi’ite Hezbollah movement that Washington deems “a terrorist organization”. The Bank of Islamic National Bank (Bank Albilad) was also included in the sanctions list for supporting the Iran Revolutionary Guard.
