According to foreign media reports, the Japanese government is making final arrangements to formally notify the World Trade Organization (WTO) that Japan is preparing to retaliate against US tariff measures. According to the report, Japan considers levying tariffs on U.S. exports worth 409 million U.S. dollars, which is equivalent to U.S. tariffs. According to the rules of international trade, this measure needs to go through certain procedures when it comes to reporting to the WTO, so as to clearly show the purpose of Japan’s import restrictions against the United States. Therefore, Japan plans to formally report to the WTO this week. Japan did not get steel and aluminum tariff exemptions like some American allies.
