Qualcomm appeals to cancel antitrust fines

Recently, the American chip maker Qualcomm asked the Second Supreme Court of Europe to cancel the 997 million euros (1.2 billion U.S. dollars) fine imposed by the European Union’s antitrust agency. Qualcomm said that the EU’s antitrust agency’s decision has many problems. In January of this year, the European Commission sanctioned Qualcomm, saying that the company had failed to supply Apple with relevant chips by paying an extra fee to Apple to obtain exclusive chip supply rights. For such cases, the judges usually take several years to make a judgment.
